Huckins Yacht Corporation Offers an Excellent Service Stop for Boaters on the Ortega River

Huckins Yacht Corporation is a full service boatyard and custom yacht builder located on the Ortega River in Jacksonville, Florida. Launched in 1928, Huckins is one of the oldest family owned boat builders in the U.S. and has skilled craftsmen on site for all of your service work. Those who are looking to stop for a night are also welcome – this boatyard warmly welcomes transient boaters with vessels up to 80' LOA and has 30amp and 50amp shore power capabilities. Please note that the max mast is 40ft. at high tide and 44ft at low tide, to get under the bridge.

While the yard has limited transient amenities, it is close to town, including restaurants, bars, hotels, retailers and grocery stores. Guests are welcome to use the onsite picnic area to take in views of the Ortega River! There is a West Marine just a few blocks away, and Huckins Yacht also has a stockroom onsite so you can get that last minute part you need before heading out.

Check In/ Check Out Policy: Guests may check in at anytime during the hours of 7:30am and 4:00pm. Check out must occur by 4:00pm.

Late Check In Policy: In the event of a check in after hours please contact the marina with your information to receive docking instructions.

Pet Policy: This marina is pet friendly. Animals must be leashed and supervised at all times.

Great boat yard. Gave us realistic time schedule and kept to it. PJ and Patty very friendly and cooperative. Pricing fair and without surprises. A lot of experience at this boatyard. Quality work.

Very cool place. They have been building yachts since 1928 and the same family still runs it. Note that it is a working yacht manufacturing and full-service repair facility. They have power and water at the slips but they do not have showers or laundry. However they are very close to a West Marine, a Publix grocery store, and many shops and restaurants (all within easy walking distance). Very convenient location.

Great boat yard. Service manager PJ is very customer focused. The quality of work is first rate at very reasonable prices. Our work was completed ahead of schedule and on budget. We were very impressed with the bottom painting, installing a stern thruster, wood work and electrical work. All the artisans are friendly and truly care about their work.

We used Huckins in March 2019 for replacement of existing stern thruster, bottom painting and compounding/waxing of the hull.

We got quotes from two yards, the one from Huckins best matched the scope of work that we requested and included enough details to allow us to evaluate it.

The workmanship was excellent, the people great to work with and the final price was very close to the estimate.
