About Snag-A-Slip

Snag-A-Slip is a new way for booking boat slips or moorings. You can now reserve slips online - or with our brand-new mobile app – just like you would with hotel rooms, airfare and restaurants. We encourage you, our customer, to use Snag-A-Slip to explore awesome destinations, find great marinas, and then book boat slips quickly and easily so that you can boat with confidence.

Snag-A-Slip is currently available from Canada to the Caribbean, and we are expanding across the US and internationally! You can boat with us from the Great Lakes all the way down the ICW to Florida and beyond. Stay tuned and check out our Regions for our new marina additions – we are expanding daily.

Booking Process

Nope, nada, zilch. We have never charged a booking fee to boaters booking slips or moorings with us. Pretty cool, right?

Type in a marina, state, or town of interest in our search bar and press Go! To narrow your results and check availability, add in your travel dates, boat length, beam and draft, and power requirements. Our system will match your search criteria with availability in the region.

If you just want to browse, that’s cool too! You can explore where we have slips by using our Interactive Map, or by browsing our Regions tab at the top of this page! Once you find a marina you like, click Learn More to check your availability. From there you will be prompted to add in your dates and boat requirements to check availability and snag your slip.

You can reserve slips as far in advance as you would like. So, whether you are planning your entire summer or just the upcoming weekend, we can help.

We do recommend that you reserve your slip during normal business hours. If you book after 5PM for a same-day stay, we will do our best to contact the marina regarding your reservation, so that you have important arrival information (bathroom codes, key cards, etc.). Since online booking is new to the boating industry, we do follow up on every reservation as soon as possible, and no later than 24 hours from the time of reservation.

Many marinas charge by the overall length of your boat (LOA) and some may charge a flat rate per night. Rates can fluctuate based on the day of the week, holidays, special events, and some marinas may charge a minimum price per night. Your total price will also include any additional taxes or fees, and we will itemize these for you before you complete your checkout process. Some of our marinas charge a resort fee on top of their slip or mooring fee. This could include amenities such as free WiFi, activities programs, concierge services, and towel/beach chairs/etc. Resort fees are charged per night, and you can see this itemized before you complete your checkout process.

Absolutely! We would be more than happy to help you! We can even plan a multi-destination cruise for you and your group. Just Contact Us with your information and details about your cruising group, and our dedicated concierge team will make it happen!

Reservation Policies

To add nights to your reservation, please create a new reservation for the additional nights. You can add your existing booking confirmation # into the booking notes at checkout so the marina is aware you are adding nights. To make other modifications to your trip, such as shifting dates or removing nights, please submit a trip modification request via our Trip Manager or Contact Us for assistance.

Eligible cancellations and refunds are easy! We mirror the marina’s cancellation policy. If you can cancel or modify your reservation based on the marina's cancellation policy, we will gladly assist.

To request a cancellation for your reservation, simply navigate to Manage My Trips and input your confirmation number and last name. From there, you can view your trip information and request a cancellation. A member of our team will reach out to you regarding your request.

If you are a Snag-A-Slip account holder, you can also view and manage all of your trips via the My Trips tab of your Account.

In the event that you are eligible for a refund, depending on the cancellation policy of the specific marina that you booked with, we will strive to process your refund immediately, and definitely within 48 hours of notification of cancellation. Refunds may take 5-7 days to reflect in your account, depending on your banking institution.

Price Match Guarantee

If you have already booked with Snag-A-Slip, a claim can be made if the price you are quoted directly from the marina [inclusive of all taxes, fees, and surcharges] is lower than what you paid on snagaslip.com. If you haven’t yet booked with Snag-A-Slip, but are quoted a lower price directly from the marina, just get in touch with us and we will match it!

Please Contact Us with your name, email, phone number, and itinerary and let us know that you found a lower price directly from the marina. We will contact the marina, and, if we can verify that you have been offered the lower price, we will either match it or refund you the difference.

If you have already booked a trip with Snag-A-Slip before you find the lower price, we will refund the difference. Upon notification of your qualification for a refund, we will aim to refund you the monetary difference between the marina's direct offer and the Snag-A-Slip price within 72 hours. Your refund will be credited to the same method you used for your Snag-A-Slip booking.

If you have not already booked a trip with Snag-A-Slip, but would like to, we will match the marina’s direct offer. Upon notification of your qualification for a price match, we will contact you directly to help you complete your booking with Snag-A-Slip.

If you cancel [partial or whole] a booking on which we have already made a refund, we will refund you the original amount you paid for the ticket, minus the Price Match Guarantee refund and any applicable cancellation fees. All refunds will be governed by any terms and conditions applicable in your destination country during your Snag-A-Slip booking.

There is no sign-up fee for marinas to use Snag-A-Slip. You can list your marina and available slips and moorings for free on our platform. We will promote your marina on social media and other channels. When a boater books a stay at your marina, Snag-A-Slip collects payment and remits it to you after checkout, assessing a nominal percentage-based fee on each reservation.

After your marina representative signs a basic listing agreement, allowing Snag-A-Slip to add your marina to our network, you will need to provide detailed information about your facilities, available services, slip sizes, and rental rates. Additionally, we ask that you provide high-quality photos and accurate descriptions, to help boaters make informed decisions. Additionally, you will need to set up a Stripe Connect account in order to receive payment via Direct Deposit for reservations processed via Snag-A-Slip.

Yes, Snag-A-Slip integrates with popular marina management software solutions such as Marinalife Manager, Molo, and Marinago Office, to ensure seamless bookings and inventory management. Reservations via Snag-A-Slip for marinas using any of these integrations are instant book, as the management software controls pricing and availability. As a bonus, marinas that offer instant booking via Snag-A-Slip will appear higher in search results, encouraging boaters to book with your marina before other options where they may have to wait for a marina response.

Marina partners set their own prices and policies, including cancellation policies. We require that marinas offer the same price to boaters on Snag-A-Slip as they would offer directly to the boater or via other reservation platforms. Our platform supports the ability to have different pricing based on day of the week, holidays and special events, and length of stay – including hourly rates. If a marina is full for certain dates, marinas can also request closures to be set in the system.
If marinas utilize a marina management software integration with Snag-A-Slip, rates and availability will be set within the connected marina management system.

All payments made by boaters through Snag-A-Slip are processed on the platform.

Snag-A-Slip collects boater payments via Stripe, an industry leader in secure payment processing. For our reservation request marina partners, payments are processed through Snag-A-Slip’s platform at the time the reservation is approved by the marina. For our instant book marina partners using one of our marina management integrations, payments are processed at the time of checkout.

For reservations that require a deposit (typically stays of 2 nights or more), the initial deposit will be collected on booking approval. The remaining balance will then be collected the night before the boater's scheduled arrival.

This process is designed to streamline check-ins and financial transactions, making the booking experience smoother for both boaters and marinas.

For hourly and single-night bookings, the full amount is charged at the time of reservation approval. For longer stays, a deposit equivalent to the fare for one night (for stays of 2-29 nights) or seven nights (for stays of 30 nights or more) is collected at booking approval. For bookings scheduled for a same day arrival, regardless of length of stay, the full amount is charged at the time of reservation approval.

The exact terms are automatically calculated based on the length of stay and the rates provided by your marina. If the above deposit feature does not align with your marina’s operations or if you prefer a different setup, please contact us directly. The system can also support collecting % based deposits, up to 100% of the reservation total. We are here to ensure that the system works well for your marina and can discuss potential adjustments.

The Snag-A-Slip platform handles all transactional aspects of the reservation, ensuring security and efficiency, and remits the payment to the marina after checkout, minus the agreed upon revenue share percentage from each booking.

Snag-A-Slip uses Stripe Connect to securely process all payments to marinas via our platform. Stripe Connect is a payment platform that enables vendors to receive payments directly to their bank accounts, eliminating the need for manual checks or other payment methods. Stripe uses advanced security measures to protect both vendors and customers. Transactions are encrypted, and Stripe adheres to strict industry standards for data protection.

Connecting your marina’s bank account is the most important step in your Snag-A-Slip onboarding experience. By connecting your account, you enable your marina to be paid for all reservations made through the Snag-A-Slip platform.

In order for your account to be fully activated on Snag-A-Slip and to receive payment for any reservations processed in our platform, you are required to set up a Stripe Connect account if it is supported in your country. This will ensure you are in compliance with all guidelines and rules for PCI, Know Your Customer, and FinCEN Customer Due Diligence.

The cancellation policy set by each individual marina will apply. Snag-A-Slip facilitates the communication and processing of cancellations according to these policies. If applicable, refunds, credits for a future stay, or payment forfeits are processed based on these terms.

Snag-A-Slip’s dedicated team provides customer support to handle booking issues, disputes, and questions from boaters, ensuring a smooth experience for both parties.

Marina managers can manage their profiles through our dedicated Marina Portal, where you can update information about slip availability, pricing, amenities, photos and more.

To access your marina portal, please log in here. You will need to provide the email associated with your marina account for access. If you need assistance with portal access, please contact your dedicated account manager or email our customer service team at with your name and marina name, and our team will assist!

We recommend updating your profile whenever there are changes to your amenities, pricing, or operational information. Keeping your profile updated ensures that potential customers receive accurate information, helping to improve customer satisfaction and reduce booking cancellations due to mismatches in expectations.

For marinas not utilizing an instant book service via one of our marina management system integrations, bookings for your marina will come in as reservation requests. You’ll want to respond to reservation requests ASAP.

You will receive an email notification and optional text alert for all reservation requests. Additionally, you can log into your Marina Portal at any time to view pending, confirmed, and historic booking requests.

From any of these options, you can easily confirm or deny the request based on availability with a simple tap or click of a button.

To confirm a request, tap or click the green ‘Confirm Request’ button. From here, the boater will be charged by Snag-A-Slip and will automatically receive a confirmation email. Ahead of their stay, they will also receive a pre-arrival email with further details on their stay. To deny a request, tap or click the red ‘No Availability’ button. From here, the boater will receive a denial notice from Snag-A-Slip and will not be charged.

Adding a Snag-A-Slip booking button or widget to your marina's website significantly increases your ability to secure bookings directly from your site. This feature meets the modern boater's expectations for quick and easy online booking, ensuring you capture their business at the peak of their interest. It integrates seamlessly into your website, maintaining your brand aesthetics while offering a streamlined and professional booking experience. This not only enhances convenience for potential customers but also increases your booking leads and inquiries.

To get started, log into your Marina Portal. From the dashboard, you will see an option to generate either the booking button or widget. Once you click into either of these choices, you can customize your button or widget, and the simple HTML code will be automatically generated for you. All you have to do from there is paste the code in your website, anywhere where you want the tools to appear. Note that depending on your website, you may need to place the code into an iFrame or other container.

Private Listings

Yes! You can learn all about how to list with Snag-A-Slip. If you're ready to get started, you can create your account.

You can provide a description, photos, amenities, maximum boat dimensions, rates, and available dates with your listing. Once it's approved by our team, it will appear in the Snag-A-Slip search results for your city or area for boaters looking to rent docks, slips, or moorings.

Listings marked as “Private Listing” are docks, slips, or moorings listed by your fellow boaters for rent on Snag-A-Slip. To book these listings, you can either check out online just like you would with a marina, or fill out the contact form on the individual listing page to connect with the owner.

Type in a city, state, or location of interest in our search bar and press Go! If there are listings where you are searching, they'll appear in the search results and will be marked as private listings. You can also explore where we have slips by using our Interactive Map, or by browsing our Regions tab at the top of this page! Once you find a location you like, you can contact the owner to book.

For listings included in our reservation request service, you will pay Snag-A-Slip directly if your request is approved by the listing owner. Snag-A-Slip will then remit payment to the owner on your behalf.

For listings that aren’t available to book online, you will fill out a contact form to connect with the owner directly. From there, it will be up to you and the owner to figure out terms of payment.

All of these policies are up to the individual owner. When you book with a private slip, it is the responsibility of both parties to clarify these and any other policies and procedures before the arrival date.

For listings included in our reservation request service, the standard Snag-A-Slip cancellation policy will apply.

For listings where we do not collect the payment from the boater, Snag-A-Slip is not able to assist with refunds for bookings. Any dispute regarding the stay must be resolved between the boater and the owner.

No, Snag-A-Slip does not offer insurance of any kind. We recommend that you obtain insurance for the vessel or listing involved in the agreement between listers and renters. Snag-A-Slip cannot be held liable for any issues or damages incurred due to or in relation to bookings made via Snag-A-Slip.


To help our boaters get the most out of their Snag-A-Slip experience, we work with our partner, Waterway Guide, to display their reviews for our marina partners. We also send out our own surveys to boaters after their stays with Snag-A-Slip marina partners, and, if given permission, we display those reviews and share them with Waterway Guide. Snag-A-Slip account holders can also leave reviews through their accounts, and these reviews are displayed on our site and shared with Waterway Guide. Waterway Guide and Snag-A-Slip verify reviews before displaying them.

If you forgot to fill out our emailed survey after your stay, no problem! If you are an account holder, you can log in to your Snag-A-Slip account and leave a review in the “My Reviews” section for past trips. Your review will then be verified by a moderator and, if approved, will appear on Snag-A-Slip and Waterway Guide. If you are a guest user, you can leave your review with our partner, Waterway Guide. Make sure to note that you booked with Snag-A-Slip!

When you leave a review for a Snag-A-Slip stay, the following information will be displayed with your review: Your First Name, Vessel Name, Boat Type, Vessel LOA, Vessel Draft, as well as the date your review was submitted. We will not display or release your personal contact information.

Snag-A-Slip and Waterway Guide provide the opportunity for marinas to respond to any reviews displayed about their businesses. Before publishing content, our teams check for slander, profanity, validity, and that the details provided are relevant for boaters. Both the Snag-A-Slip customer service team and the Waterway Guide team of cruising editors are committed to providing this attention to detail.

When a review is submitted for your marina, either Snag-A-Slip or Waterway Guide will reach out to you, giving you the opportunity to respond. We encourage you to respond to all reviews and if you receive a negative review, you can explain your position. We will display your response.

At Snag-A-Slip, we love to hear about your boating experiences with our marina partners, and we value your contributions to our website. To make sure your review is published, please refrain from using profanity or vulgarity in your reviews. Please also make sure your reviews are relevant for other boaters — keep in mind that others will be reading your review to understand what a stay at that marina might be like. You can only submit one review per experience with a given marina partner. Be sure to provide enough information and detail in your review to help out your fellow boaters!
