We had a nice stay at this rustic marina. The docks were recently updated, and the marina office person was nice. The pool looked inviting but the weather wasn’t conducive to swimming. The restrooms need more regular maintenance and updating. There were many dog droppings along the marina paths and most grassy areas. A pretty spot with lots of potential.

We called to book a transient slip and the reservation was made through what seemed to be a call center. We were concerned about the narrow entrance/ depth and wanted to talk to the dock master but were required to make payment before being connected. The dock master assured us he had 6' draft (same as us) sailboats coming in all the time. Tides are critical and we were just off high tide. We were advised to stay to either side of the entry channel as there was a rock in the middle that would be an issue at low tide. We had to wait out the t-storm and realized we would have to leave at 03:30 next morning or after noon to get out safely. We were not comfortable and opted to drop anchor. Lesson learned, complete your research before committing. The Potomac is challenging for boats of our size.

GPS (Navionics) sent us to wrong location, had to call marina to figure it out, they were helpful. Docking was easy, but floating pier is narrow and moves a lot. No mention on their website that their fuel tanks were not working…good thing we had enough. No BBQ grills or place to sit out. Pool was nice. Will probably try different marina when in this area.

Wow! The cottage was horribly dirty, the laminate floors were sticky and it had traces of something being spilled. The carpet was dirty and stinky and smelled like wet dog and feces! But surprisingly the bed had really clean sheets and was very comfortable. After a very long ride with several obstacles, I didn’t have the energy to turn around and leave so my wife and I just trooppered it out. We took the hint! There was a bottle of fabuloso cleaning solution on the table and cleaned and mopped the cottage. But the smell never went away. Other than that, the people were friendly and PRYCA held an amazing event.

Dredge the channel to MLLW of at least 6 feet. Our keel is at 5' and seeing 5.2' just past the R1 & G2 with a following sea and wind is not a pleasant experience or first impression. The docks are in need of repair. While the length and width of the finger piers is exceptionally good, their stability is quite poor in that they rock side to side which is a hazard and liability for accidentally falling in the water; imagine that in the colder water months. While the pool was well maintained the deck around the pool could use more chairs, umbrellas and/or trees for shade opportunities. The public restrooms and showers are adequate but a little air conditioning is a very welcome relief. We often choose a marina (with a pool with shaded areas around the decking) for the A/C opportunities. The on site restaurant is closed. We understand that is being addressed and is a win-win for the marina and customers when done. As part of the improvements also consider a "boaters lounge" near or under the trees near the beach with chairs, A/C, restroom, maybe an outside deck with a few tables, chairs & umbrellas positioned to take in the Potomac River views. An enormous plus you have is the views of the Potomac. You should capitalize on that every way you can.

Tough to assess as the facility was overwhelmed by an outside group. So no comment on pool/showers/ restaurant. Floating docks were nice but need some TLC. Perfect location for us due to proximity to friends. Will check it out again on a calmer weekend.
We wanted to thank you for your reservation at Coles Point Marina over the Labor Day Weekend and for the review of your stay at the property. As you mentioned there was a very large group also here last weekend that joins us annually, and we would like to apologize to yourself and any members of your party for not receiving notice of the event at the time of your booking. We do hope you join us again on a quieter weekend in the future, so we can provide the remarkable experience that all boaters deserve.

Marina infrastructure continues to decline. About 1/3 of slips are occupied and major sections of docks appear to be abandoned. Diesel fuel was very expensive at $5.25/gal when $3.70 to $3.90 was the nominal price on the Bay. This place use to be a premier marina on the River and could be once again with attention, $$ and effort. I am rooting for a comeback.

Snag-A-Slip gave me open slip in a weekend of 100 degree weather when covered slips were empty all weekend that I would have fit in. You don't know marina or don't care about assigning slips to conditions.
We'd like to thank this boater for staying with our marina and for providing this valuable feedback. We apologize for the inconvenience for the open slip on such a hot weekend. Snag-A-Slip doesn’t control the slip assignments at Coles Point Marina. With over 50 boats that docked for a special event during this weekend, we enlisted the help of the PRYCA President to assign slips based on friend groups, special needs, and power requirements. Since we are limited on covered 50 AMP Slips at the marina, it is hard to get everyone under cover. We always encourage boaters to visit our staff in the office to address concerns so that we can address these issues as they arise on site. We apologize again that this experience at the property was unsatisfactory, and hope to welcome this boater back for an improved experience in the future.

The deck hands were helpful but the docks aren't in the best condition with quite a few areas needing to be repaired. We also lost water pressure intermittently.
We'd like to thank this customer for providing valuable feedback from their recent stay at Coles Point and will pass your complements to our staff. The marina is currently undergoing an extensive repair and maintenance project, and we hope to have all the repairs to the property completed before the season is over. The docks are on the list to be addressed. We look forward to welcoming you back to the marina in the future for an improved experience.

We have been going to Coles Point for many years. We have stayed in the marina, the cabins and camped on the beach. Glad to see improvements being made, although somewhat slow. It is a very convenient location for us to visit and we hope to see it get better each time.

$20.00 seems a bit high to use the waste pump out. Most everywhere else it is only $5.00. Also docking assistance would be helpful.

People working at the Marina were super friendly and bent over backwards to help our group. Our group of boats was leaving at 9AM on a Monday and Crystal came in 1 hour early to open up the gas pumps for us. My reason for the neutral grade was because the mens bath house needed some work. The one shower door had rotted wood at the bottom and had previously been "fixed" This was a piece of sheet metal which was screwed to the bottom. The door bottom dragged and the door would get stuck if you closed it. Also, the ladies room side had exterior light fixtures, but both bulbs were burnt out. My understanding is that the new marina owners are going to invest some money into the facility? Hopefully some of this $$ finds its way to the bathhouse.

It is a nice marina and we had a good time. We plan to return. The marina, like most things in life, could use some improvement. Some of the docks need updating. There was an overflow in the mens room that was not cleaned-up the entire weekend. Our slip was supposed to be a 50 amp, but was not. The marina was good about addressing this issue.

There is a lot to like about Coles Point Marina. The covered slips, fuel dock, water depth, pool, on-site Tim's Coles Point Restaurant. However, there is room for improvement. The maintenance and cleanliness of the bathrooms and shower or lack there of. The female shower rooms are in serious need of repair. On one, the door is busted and can't opened, the other the latch does not secure the door. As a female, I would not feel comfortable with this. Both the male and female restrooms are in serious need of cleaning, not cleaned once during our stay. People using the shower stalls to urinate in is also a problem. Perhaps, people who do not know the code for the bathrooms are using the unlocked shower stalls to pee in? Either way, unacceptable.

Bathrooms, Showers and other aspects of the facility were not ready for guests. Water pressure on the ladies side was weak. Restaurant, pool, and bar area was closed one week prior to Memorial Day. Pool was closed. This is not what we expected based on website photos of the "resort". Floating dock was fine but is falling into initial stages of disrepair. Wifi was weak and mostly unusable. The two men that helped tie the boats in were very helpful. The few staff that were seen were courteous and helpful.

No one answered the radio call as we were approaching the marina. After tying up at what we thought might be the correct dock (we were with another boat) we went into the office only to find out we needed to move our boats to another area. There was no welcoming brief and we never found out if there were bathroom or shower facilities available. The marina seemed abandoned with the store and restaurant both closed. The pool was okay at least. Don’t recommend going here in the middle of the week. (We went on a Wednesday in August.)

Wouldn't answer 16 on radio, so we had to call on phone. When we went to check in, the lady acted like she didn't know we had a reservation and for how long. Very unprofessional behind the desk. When asked about pump out when we leave,we were told the guy doesn't come till 11.But we could do it ourselves. They also charge $20..even though website says $10. No marina on the Potomac charges more than $5 for this service and many offer it free with slip. Pumpout didn't work do we had to wait till 9 to get refund. The bathrooms were fine but the 2 showers each were not. No shelf to put incidentals. One of the woman's doors would even close. Very low water pressure. The restaurant had good food and great service. The marina needs updating, and personnel retrained.

The marina was nice, and the floating docks were in good shape. The restaurant right there was convenient and the food was good. The beach was 100 yds away and nice and clean - my kids were bummed we didn't have time to go for a swim. The only complaint was the fuel dock hours weren't great for us - we got in after it closed at 5p, and then it didn't open until 9a the next day, which was after we planned to depart, so we stopped down river to fuel up.

The transient docks, bathrooms, staff, and onsite restaurant were all great. The negatives were the pool water was cloudy and there was a very large RV event going on adjacent to the transient docks. The marina staff were excellent. The woman at the front desk helped me reach out to their boat mechanic to try to fix an issue we had. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the marina is showing some age and needs a bit of TLC. As for Tim’s...We felt it was overpriced (~$18 for an order of crab balls and french fries) and due to staff shortages they closed early (8:00 PM).

Coles Point Marina is in a great location for us, very protected from waves. We were in a covered slip with water and power. Tim’s restaurant was fantastic. The only reason to keep it from a five star is the bath house could use some renovations and more frequent cleanings. Overall, we were pleased and do plan to go back.

Coles Point Marina is an overall average Marina. The slips and roofs are in somewhat poor repair and the Marina has a "fell on hardtimes" vibe. Nats and Flys were a constant annoyance, so bring bugs spray. The view and expansive open sand beach is what makes this place a great location. Coles Point is also part of an RV Park which has a ton of golf cart traffic, so ask to be in the covered slips if you would like to be away from the action/noise. Gas was higher than others in the areas. The onsite restaurant "Tim's at Coles Point" is okay in food quality and service. The Coles Point Marina employees were kind and pleasant. To sum it up, Coles Point is average but could use a little more attention to maintenance.

Had reservations for this past Saturday night, no one responded on VHF radio or answered the phone. When I finally tracked someone down we were told to park in a slip right in front of the restaurant which meant we were forced to listen to loud music and watch flashing lights until midnight. We had requested a covered slip. There was no dockhand to help with docking. By the time we docked ourselves and hooked up power, I went to the office and it was closed! No one even came to check with us and provide us with the wifi password or marina information before closing. Closing a marina at 5:00 P.M. on a Saturday night in the summertime is crazy. We saw so many people coming in to gas up only to find the place is closed. From what we could see and experienced at this marina I would keep on cruising by and not stop. The marina is run down and does not look like anything like you see in the pictures on this page.
