The communication with the marina was awesome. They called first thing in the morning to ensure I knew where to park. Once we were arriving I called and they sent a couple guys out to guide us into the spot. We paid for the night but only stayed a few hours. Overall great experience. The Wharf scenery and overall vibe was on point. We will go back and try some other restaurants.

The Market pier has a lot of activity: many commercial entities share the pier, so you have a ton of patrons strolling to and from boats. Bathrooms are clean, however it was a challenge getting hot water. Nice location for restaurants and entertainment.

Nice marina close to all the action. Steps from all the museums, monuments and restaurants. If at all possible do not stay on the market docks which are essentially a commercial dock with lots of noise and rowdy people. After one night we were able to move to the main marina which was so much nicer. During a future stay I would not stay at this marina if they couldn’t guarantee I’d be at the main marina.

I was directed to slip A6 when I radioed during my approach, then 3 hours later I was approached by one of the dock masters, that I should have parked in another slip. There was no water at the dock. The electric pedestal for my slip was unhinged from the bottom and the wind blew it onto my boat. I have a few minor scratches.

We had a great experience during our overnight stay at the marina. Docking was simple with the assistance of a friendly deck hand. We were welcomed with a thoughtful welcome bag, which was a nice touch. The facilities were very clean and well-maintained, and we appreciated the convenience of the on-site laundry. The marina offers beautiful views, especially in the evening, and its location is perfect — just a short walk to the wharf with plenty of great dining and attractions nearby. Highly recommend for a comfortable and enjoyable stopover!

We have never had better upfront customer service than we have from The Wharf. They made sure we had everything necessary for a wonderful stay. The even called for an ETA to make sure they had dock hands ready to assist us. And the location of the marina could not be better! It’s right in the middle of the Wharf neighborhood, with everything you could possibly need with in walking distance! Definitely recommend and will be back!!

As I approached the marina, they told me they didn’t have me reserved for an overnight so they scrambled and stuck me next to a party boat on dock A. I heard through the grapevine that this boat is a repeat offender so what ensued should not have come as a surprise….. The music and party blasted until the police came sometime way after midnight. My friend from an adjacent slip told me that as my wife and I slept he saw two drunk guys from the party move my boat to make room for one of their friends yachts that hadn’t even paid for a slip. Only one of the four showers worked, and the water was cold. The most expensive rates I’ve paid but the worst service.

The mooring ball in DC is one of the best deals you can probably find. Very centrally located and a good price. The facilities are nice (showers clean, laundry available but kind of pricey). The staff were super nice and helpful. Heavy boat traffic caused some wake. Lack of wind and current changes led to bumping the mooring ball. All things that can't be helped but should be considered. Would stay here again!

Although dock hands were friendly and helpful, the marina itself is not taken care of on a daily basis. Garbage in the water, as well as stacked and strewn at the gate is not managed. This is transient dockage, but also contains several boat rental companies who rent to anyone, none of who may have run a boat before! Our boat was in several near collisions sitting at the dock! Will not stay at this marina again.

The person who answered the phone did not seem familiar with the marina. She gave us our slip assignment, but was unable to describe where it was. Our slip was A-6, and the markings for the slip are not viewable from the water. We spent a lot of time trying to find our slip.

Great place to stop in. RIght next to many restaurants, bars and concert venue. Secure spot with plenty of privacy and great staff. Highly recommend making the trip as this is a very rare high end play for boaters to explore DC without the hassle of driving.

First of all, the staff is excellent, especially Cierra :-) everyone on the staff is attentive and ready to help. The marina is spread out and it’s a long way to get to the heads if you are on the outskirts. I was there for the Fourth of July, and the only reason I wouldn’t get five stars in the sky is trash wasn’t picked up for a couple of days afterwards. I just happen to be right next to the trash cans :-( Would have to give them five stars, if that were to happen :-)

Wow, the Wharf is an awesome Marina! Great service, large floating slips, and so close to so many things! 24 hour lounge - with coffee after 7 and fast washer/dryers. Staff was great, too, Serina especially, but we also loved the on-demand pump out and easy to reach fuel dock. It's hard to imagine a better planned marina and we loved trying all of the restaurants nearby. Close to all of the monuments, tours, and special events - theater, music - - the wharf has it all! Hope to be back soon.

My overall experience was a 3 this time. The shore power continuously tripped and I had to use my generator to cook and watch TV for the three nights. This happened to a fellow dockmate as well. Also, during the morning of my departure, the rest rooms were unkept and without toilet paper. Finally, unwanted visitors dropped in at their leisure, purchased seafood and grilled it without a slip reservation, followed by 3 larger yachts around 11PM, who attempted to dock and block slips at the end of A dock.

The concrete floating docks are in great shape and kept spotless by the staff. Cierra and all the dock staff we interacted were friendly, helpful and skilled in their positions. I had confirmed a preferred slip location 30 days out, in writing, and then we arrived the marina seemed to have no awareness of it. That made for an unpleasant and uncomfortable start as I was not willing to be flexible, and they were “too busy” to figure out our location. We did find someone else to help through the process. Then when we were docking on our second day dockhands came to help but actually made a mistake that almost caused damage to two boats.

The dockmaster mistakenly put me into the wrong slip and it turned into an issue once the other boat came in later that evening. The showers in the new bathroom facility at the docks had no hot water so had to take a cold shower the next morning.

Great Hospitality. Put me on V Dock close to the office and easy to get to the retail shops. Topped off fuel tanks at 8:30am when didn't open until 9:00am.

While the dockhands were friendly and helpful, the experience we had at the Wharf was less than stellar. Providence is a 34’ Mainship Pilot and uses 30 Amp power. We were placed on the Market Street Dock because as we later found out we were, “such a small boat and only used 30 Amp”. Our request to be moved to the main dock with other cruising boats was denied. The Market Street Dock is where all of the local charter boats operate out of. The Hot Tub boat unloaded its drunken passengers at all times of the day/night while partiers yelled up and down the dock as they walked past our boat. There was no power to the entire dock when we arrived and I was told it had been that way for a couple of days. It was fixed a few hours later and two days later a spraying leak from the bottom of a power/water pedestal caused a water shutdown of the entire marina for the rest of the day and overnight. We left that morning. Recommend you go to Capital Yacht Club or use a mooring ball while in DC.

Very nice marina with lots of nice amenities. Best of all, it's within walking distance of most of the sights in DC. All sorts of restaurants nearby. We had 2 packages delivered while there, without any issues. Pumpout is at the slip for convenience. Easy in and easy out, with an awesome view of Washington Monument and the Capital enroute.

Clean floating docks easy access to the Maine Street waterfront. Since it is Winter I took care to make a reservation ahead of time and provide my contact info. I left multiple messages on the marina phone and multiple attempts to hail the marina but never received a response. In the end I parked myself in the ample free spots and found power but had to climb the fence since I couldn't get the courtesy of an access code. If you're not going to man the docks you could at least include the gate access code in your booking confirmation!

I reserved a slip and advised that I was staying at the Pendry hotel and wanted to be in that part of the marina. Upon arrival I was told that I had to be at the Market Pier which is a half mile away. Staff tried to get me into a closer slip and had me try two other slips that only had one 30Amp power source. This is after I asked them to check first to make sure it had dual 30. An hour later I had to dock at the Market yard after all. Not happy.

My slip assignment was located in the marina south of the Capital Yacht Club call "The Wharf Marina". It is managed by Oasis Marinas and on "The Wharf Marina" website homepage you will also find a tab for "The Market Docks", which is north of CYC. My location was great. Having walked past the Market Docks I would most likely be providing a 1 or 2 star review had I been assigned a slip in the location. That said, The Wharf location has a professional and friendly staff. The dockhand, Henry, who met me at my slip knew how to tie a proper cleat hitch. One dockhand, Lee, knocked on the boat later in the week to inquire if I needed a pump out since he was already pumping boats around mine. Cierra, in the office, was also very helpful and attentive to my questions as was Leigh. Why not give them 5 stars you ask? It was because prior to arrival I did not know which marina I would be assigned. Reading the reviews of The Market Docks makes me think I just got lucky.

After multiple attempts and switching slips, the shore power consistently tripped my breaker and the only way I could use power was via generator. I don’t have this problem at my dock and The Wharf is too new for this kind of inconvenience. I departed a day early and a credit is warranted.

The marina's power pedestals use an Equipment Leakage Circuit Interrupter due to new electrical code requirements requiring greater ground fault protection in marinas. As a result, some vessels may not be compatible with their shore power systems. We understand your concerns and are investigating the matter to ensure it is promptly resolved.

Slip V15 is unusable for transients. Crew have no space to to tie lines to cleats. Constance bike racks, garbage containers and other obstacles are all the way to the edge of the slip. Recommend moving V15 forward 60’ permanently

Marina personnel are kind and accommodating - very friendly. The piers are clean and clear of debris. Facilities are clean and fresh. Moving in and out of the marina was simple and achieved with ease. Access to the waterfront restaurants was as simple as stepping through the gate. Washington Mall and all monuments and museums are within a 1.5 mile walk. Highly recommend this marina and all that it has to offer.

Poor directions to slip initially (there are two "A" docks on the same side of Washington Channel, this was not explained clearly on calling the marina). Gave us a slip 2 block from the actual marina amenities, in the Market basin which is a base dock for water taxi and electric boat rentals. Slip assigned was not visible from the water as the placard was on the dock's deck and very small (3"x6"). Boat was covered in little pieces of paper and debris (I suspect from fireworks the previous night) the morning we left.

Overall wasn’t the visit we planned. It seems they either 1) over booked or 2) did a horrible job regulating the day use of their docks as there were too many boats. As a result we ended up docked in the wrong slip since it was the only one still available with a 30amp at arrival. There was also excessive noise/ partying all day and night past the quiet hours that led to us choosing to abandoning our plans to stay at the marina (which we paid for) and returning to our home marina.

I’ve been going to the Wharf for different events since it opened. I usually balk at the ridiculous price for an overnight stay due to the insane per foot pricing. Because of the pricing, the place is normally empty unless there is a special event weekend. This weekend was one of those event weekends being Pride on the Pier and sponsored by The Wharf. We arrived to no response on our phone call to the marina, so we just pulled into an open slip. Most of the slips are occupied by commercial charter boats, so the pickings were slim. After tying up and plugging in, everything was fine. Then a few boats shows up and the entire dock tripped off several times due to the inability for the marina to keep up with the power requirements. We got stuck next to a boat that played music so loud that night, that we couldn’t hear ourselves talk. This went on for 5 hours until midnight. No one from the marina was on-site, so we went to a restaurant to wait it out. We will not be going back.

We had the most enjoyable stay at The Wharf Marina, in fact we decided to extended our stay and booked another two days. The Wharf Marina has all the accommodations you can hope for and the very best very service from the staff. Cierra is an awesome communicator and personally ensured we had all the information we needed throughout our stay. She was super helpful with suggestions as we explored the waterfront - SHE IS A SHIING STAR there. Derrick met us on the fuel dock and was EXTREMELY proficient and removed all stress usually associated with fueling. He was also very helpful and patient as I used their pump-out, really he is just a SUPER GOOD GUY and hope you get to meet him. I did encounter other staff members as well, but forgot their names when buying ice, all very very professional and helpful, a big thumbs up to Wharf Marina for employing the the excellent staff!

The person on duty when we arrived was clueless. She was unaware a boat was coming in and sounded hesitant to even check. She was unfamiliar with the dock layout. When I told her we were assigned "B-3" just past the fuel pier, she got hung up because there isn't a B-dock...she eventually figured out the confusion was that the dock assigned was V-dock (which is the one just past the fuel pier) rather than B-dock. V-3. Then, she couldn't really explain where our slip was and she didn't come down to the boat to meet us. She apparently came out of the office somewhere on the DC waterfront and waved but we couldn't see her. When we were leaving we called for the gate code. She gave us four digits that didn't work because it requires a person to enter a # sign. Then she said enter # first. But the gate requires you to enter # after the number not before it. I figured it out on my own. It was very lucky that I was one of one or maybe two customers at the dock last Wed night.

I've been frequenting this marina for about 5 years and the new area of the marina is a very welcomed addition. It is very nice, well designed with all floating docks and adequate room to safely maneuver when docking, it also now has portable in-slip pump out facilities and a new fuel dock. The new marina office and facilities are also a welcomed improvement over what was previously provided. The ramps from the docks provide a convenient walk to all of the new amenities along the waterfront. My only suggestion is for the staff to be a bit more proactive by proving slip assignments before arrival and greeting the boat at the dock with a welcoming package that provides basic information as the gate key-code. I've been very pleased and recommend that other boaters check out the newly upgraded marina. I've always found the staff to be very helpful and ready to lend a hand when docking.

Everything was very nice, the staff was helpful, the facilities were clean and new. The location is great but a bit noisy, close to a lot of action and very near the helicopter flight path. Our only problem was getting through the gate one night the staff had taken a break and we spent about 20 minutes trying to call and finally another boater had to let us in. If they gave transient boaters a card there would have been no problem but they don’t so you have to rely on someone in the office to let you in.

The Wharf is a fully equipped marina located near the Mall in Washington DC. It has all the features a cruiser could want and need: floating docks along a no wake section of the Washington Channel, good bathrooms with semi-private showers, a laundry room with 4 washers and 4 dryers, a lounge, conveniently placed garbage and recycling receptacles, in-slip pumpout, and fuel. It's walking distance to a Safeway supermarket and the Metro. It's in an upscale tourist development (The Wharf) with lots of good but expensive restaurants and bars and some shopping. My main gripe was the cost: it's not a place for budget-conscious cruisers. There were several mega-yachts there during my stay; I think these are the folks this marina caters to.

To start with the Marina did not answer the radio as we approached on either channel posted. We therefore approached the fuel dock where the attendants said they had no idea where we needed to go and I needed to call the office. The office told us we were in the wrong section of the Marina. No surprise as we had not received any instructions. They told us we needed to go to “A” dock which ended up being the Capital Yacht Club, which we didn’t realize until we docked so we called again and received more vague instructions where to go. We eventually found a slip however even it did not match to number the office gave us as that slip didn’t exist. On top of this there was a loud party on the boat next to us until very late. We tried to use the bathhouse however there was only one working and it was filthy with trash overflowing and flies everywhere. Bottom line one of our worse Marina experiences made worse by the high price.

One of the onsite attendees confronted us very unprofessionally not knowing we purchased a mooring slip. Parking spots were initially limited and (3) of the ladies on the boat needed to immediately use the restroom. Since not spots were available we pulled into an open slip for less than (45) SECONDS so the ladies could debark from the boat to access the restroom. Immediately, a young woman (did not obtain her name) ran outside and yelled at the ladies telling them “you’re not welcome here and you cannot park there!” After learning we purchased a mooring spot she immediately vacated the area with an apology of explanation for her actions. Super unprofessional and she’s lucky she left when she did. Been using this Company for two years and this is the first unfortunate experience

I was assigned slip A31 and my buddy was assigned M1 we swapped before arrival. Slip M1 was unable to provide 30 or 50 amp service to my boat. I was later shifted (at 10:00pm) to slip B19 to reach a power output, after having to run my generator for power. Later in the evening after visiting with my friend at A31 my wife went to walk back to our boat at B19 there were a group of males hanging out by my boat, I decided to walk down there with her, only to find 1 of them on my boat (I WAS NOT HAPPY). The next morning not sure if it was the same group but empty seltzer cans we thrown on the bow of my boat. This group came from the paddle boat that docked I believe in A29. The amount of foot traffic was unreal with the number of people that seemed to have access to the slips and were unescorted by whatever business was picking up or dropping off their customers. Far cry from the peaceful place I stayed before

The team members at The Wharf are amazing they are always so helpful but our last two stays we have had theft.  This satay last Saturday night someone boarded our boat between the hours of 10:30 pm and 7:30 am and stole our very high end life jackets totaling over $400. Our slip # was V08 which is directly under the office.  Life jackets are replaceable but the principle is disappointing. They were stored away and not visible or easily reachable. It’s a feeling of violation and at such an enjoyable place with what appears secure access. The bonus was the following morning. When we saw security guard we asked was there a problem with theft, he looked dumbfounded, then asked if there was surveillance, he pointed at a camera and walked away. Because of this we had tot boat back to Virginia safety non compliant!!!!  To all boaters going to The Wharf, lock up your stuff. If it isn’t bolted down, take everything to your hotel room, including life jackets.

The mooring ball stay was fine. I had a very confusing experience with every phone cal I made to the marina. I couldn’t get a straight answer from numerous people (except Cierra on the last call) for where to pick up guests. No one ever called me back with answers to questions I had. I was offered when booked to be picked up by dinghy for showers and such at the marina bathrooms if needed. Spoke to 5 different people who said they have the service, then they don’t have the service. Very confusing and frustrating, literally Waiting for a pick up after a call to request 9am July 5th to find out there isn’t such a thing. I’ll know for next time to bring my own dinghy, didn’t have it for this trip and the offer at booking is what made me book it knowing I’d have guests and need facilities.

My prepaid slip A31 was not available upon arrival arrival my slip was being occupied buy a company renting personal tour boats. I also took pictures of the boats occupying the slip. My vessel was placed on a wall dockside with a very large yacht completely blocking my view of the fireworks. I’ve been a customer for years and this by far was my worst experience

The Wharf Marina is the best. We had a wonderful six night stay, the staff is friendly and helpful. The marina is secure and very clean. We would highly recommend this marina and will stay here again.

We booked two nights, but needed to leave a day early when NOAA issued small craft and gale winds for the day we had planned to leave. The Wharf did acknowledge our weather situation and gave us a credit to use on a return visit to their marina. After explaining we were on America's Great Loop and live in Illinois so we would not be able to return to their marina, the general manager told me she must adhere to their policy to be fair to all boaters. Unfortunately, I was not successful at getting across the point that their policy is not fair to boaters unable to ever return to their marina.

I had a good stay here. Just understand that this is a marina in an urban area. It’s close to a bridge which has traffic, there are lots of helicopters and airplanes flying over. I marked it as Good not Excellent because the showers weren’t working and because there were some other transient boaters with loud stereos thumping until around midnight. The service was good, the floating docks in good shape, and the power was good. The dock is shared with several boat rental places. It’s secured with a gate but there are also lots of people coming through for the rentals. I was there on a perfect June Saturday night. It would be much calmer on a weeknight or off-season. Thanks for a good stay!

Stayed on mooring #3 for two nights in late May 2023. Slight current and moorings are heavy duty. New facilities, incredible staff, and a vibrant boardwalk. Lots of restaurants and shops. Very secure area and many DC attractions are walkable. If you love helicopters, they fly up the Washington Channel.

Great location to museums, most are within a mile. Dock hands are polite and ask if we needed anything whenever they saw us. There is a floating restroom attached to dock but we did not use it. Transient docks (Market Docks) are gated and code enabled but that didn’t keep the locals out. We were there for 4 days and numerous times locals, who did not have boats, were coming into dockage and fishing and just hanging out...once to offer liquor to a person in a canoe, who drank it there at the dock. The dock masters saw locals enter gates and never stopped them from coming in. We never felt unsafe but if one has the code how many more use it? Also beware of power issues. They bring attention on web site as to updated power. However, they have issues on their end. Power stations look to be of the early fault system in that they are more sensitive then current versions. The first tower we hooked up to tripped ( slip M01) I found that one leg had only 50 volts.

Leigh runs a great marina for transients. The dock hands were helpful and prompt with requests. The office staff, Cierra, made us feel welcome from moment one. The location can't be beat for access to all the DC has to offer. One of the best places on our spring trip.

The new docks are awesome, wide, floating and concrete. Access to all DC has to offer is top notch. While it is a premium priced marina, you get all that you pay for and more. A must stay in DC.

Reservations were simple, even when I wanted to switch from one night to two. I had 12 boats from my yacht club for the trip and because I didn’t have a 50amp to 30Amp converter, I was on a different dock. I have since bought the converter so I’m looking forward to my next trip. Jessie’s seafood wholesale is a must also

The new docks and renovations at the Wharf Marina are incredible. The transition from what it used to be to what it is now is really something to marvel at. We'll actually make the trip up the Potomac and stay there now! All of the new construction around it is great too, cant wait to go back summer '23 when it's all completely done.
