South Jersey Marina: a Marina worthy of the name "Full Service"
South Jersey Marina has been providing first-class accommodations and services for more than 20 years. Slipholders and transients will find everything they need to make their boating experience productive and pleasurable. The marina’s 75 slips all feature high-profile, state-of-the-art floating piers. Without the experience, care and dedication of its staff, a marina is just a place to tie up a boat. At South Jersey Marina, they have an experienced staff which understands boats and boaters, and is committed to the well-being of both.
Dockside services include local weather & fishing reports and the coordination of boat repairs through their sister facility: Canyon Club Resort Marina, also located on Cape May Harbor. Sparkling clean showers and rest rooms, an on-site laundry plus nearby restaurants and well-stocked food markets, all combine to make life on your boat a treat instead of a test of endurance.

Great facility in a great location. Nice floating docks and convenient ship store and bathrooms. Very nice showers. We were here relatively early in the season and it was clear they were still training their junior dockhands, but their more experienced staff knew what they were doing. This marina uses rings on sliding rods on the front pilings due to significant tidal changes so be prepared to tie up through the rings. Fuel and pumpout were convenient and well staffed. Lots of restaurants nearby and a close walk or bike ride to town. I had to get a little further away to find green space for dog walking, but once you head towards town the walk is nice. Would stay there again.

The best marina that we've stayed at on the East Coast! The staff are all fantastic - they checked on us regularly and were so accommodating to help us at the dock and shuttle us around town. It was like being with family. The bathrooms/showers were beautiful and pristine, and the laundry was so easy because no quarters are needed (they use an app which was super easy to use). We love Cape May and walked into town often but could also make use of their shuttle anytime. We will be back for sure!!!

We loved our stay here, the staff went out of their way to be accommodating in driving us to a marine store for parts. The marina itself is very nice and modern, clean and has great high floating docks. Easy access to Cape May and our favorite, the Lobster House! Watch the current while trying to dock, but staff is very helpful. Will return!

Dock hands were phenomenal! This is an extremely popular transient spot for the seasonal migrations and we were the fish swimming upstream headed north at this time of year. Boats of all sizes are juggled around on a daily basis to accommodate everyone and dock hands do it effortlessly with smiles. A little tricky (read narrow channel with currents), best to approach at slack tide for boats our size.

The Staff were extremely friendly. Shuttle service into town helped us out a lot. First time visiting Cape May from Delaware, we will definitely visit again.

Located near the bridge in the Cape May back channel, South Jersey Marina caters to larger boats and sport fishermen and sponsors tournaments during the season. The 4 foot clearance on the Lafayette St. Bridge means that there is no through traffic at the marina. Reservations were handled efficiently and the marina was accommodating to our request for early arrival so that we could get a boat bike repaired. The gas dock and the slips behind it are on the creek so, when the tide is running, there is a considerable current to deal with. The slips behind the gas dock are perpendicular to the current flow so it is best to arrive at slack tide. There is plenty of depth and room to maneuver, even for larger boats.
The physical facilities offer everything that you would want. The docks are floating and in excellent condition. Well maintained power, water, and even fuel are available in slip. The office/store is quite extensive and the newly refurbished laundry room has three large capacity washers and dryers: credit card only. Showers are on the second floor and can only be described as "Deluxe." There is a restaurant on site and several others, including the Lobster House, within easy walking distance. Cell service was excellent for all carriers and we had excellent internet connectivity. Marina Wi-Fi was string and fast as well. There is no gated security at the marina but all areas were well lit and there was no sense of concern for safety.
A special mention must be made of the marina staff. Everyone that we came in contact with provided the necessary help in a professional but also friendly fashion. They went out of their way to make our stay more than pleasant and we saw this as they helped two other boats into the marina as well. There is a courtesy car that will take you into town for shopping or food during the day and there is Uber service for evening outings.
The town of Cape May is really quite interesting. It is recognized as the oldest seaside resort in the country with a history going back to the mid-eighteenth century. You could spend a week simply walking around the different area of interests, soaking up the rich history of the place. Cape May is also on the Atlantic Waterfowl Flyway and there are several important wildlife refuges nearby. An Acme supermarket is in town and an ALDI supermarket is five miles north of the marina. The courtesy car will take you and pick you up. We ate lunch downtown at Key West Tacos and had a delicious meal. For us the stay was a surprise. We have been through Cape May several times before but it was always as an overnight stopping point transiting the Atlantic or Delaware Bay. It is worth the time to stop and sample what the town has to offer.

Nice marina, stayed on fuel dock, 20' water at high tide, high floating docks, prices are high but great location and seem to be line for the area.
Snag It.
