Turner Marine Supply Is A Gulf Coast Gem
Nestled in a natural harbor on the western shore of Mobile Bay, Turner Marine Supply has it all. Located in Mobile, Alabama on the Dog River, the marina is entirely enclosed making for safe dockage. Turner Marine Supply is a complete marine facility with site yard service, two travelifts and dry storage. This is a great stopover for transient cruisers heading up or down the inland waterways. Turner Marine Supply has awesome amenities that will make each stay feel like you're right at home. Guests will have access to clean restroom and showering facilities, as well as a laundry room. You can catch up on a good book in the lounge area. The property does have WiFi, making it easy to keep up with the undesired work e-mails. There is a beautiful picnic area with grills overlooking the harbor. This makes for a fantastic view during meal time. For additional amenities, the marina has quick and easy access to nearby retailers, delicious restaurants, and grocery stores. This is perfect for stocking up that galley or grabbing a bite to eat. Please note, the marina no longer accepts Discover or American Express Credit Cards on site, and there is a 20.5% add on for all items over $3000.

Turner Marine Supply is a basic marina. Docks are fixed and wooden and with a wind out of the North and low tide, water can get scarce dock side. The staff are friendly, helpful and quick to try and find a solution to that helps. Work we had done was minor, the charges were reasonable. There is a West Marine Express within walking distance. Walmart delivers provisions but getting into Mobile requires and Uber, taxi or car rental. Fuel and pump out is next door, about 150 yards round trip, would stop again if in the area.

Don't expect a resort marina. Most transients will be on a face dock. Depth at the slip about 5 ft at low tide. Docks in rough shape, grounds not well maintained with random old salvage boat parts scattered around. No fuel or pump out. I did not need service, but office staff was courteous and helpful. Two travel lifts. Bathrooms not clean. Laundry is available. Well protected from weather. Can walk to neighboring yacht club, but no other restaurants or shopping close by. Uber or rent a car to provision and see museums in downtown Mobile. The price is reasonable. They do allow extended stays so you can leave the boat and travel home for a while. With all that said, I would stay here again.

The staff was very accommodating, but the fixed docks with a short pier made it too difficult to get on and off our boat (we have a midships side gate). We stayed just one night. The restroom shower facility was not clean, so I showered on the boat.
Small West Marine next door. Well stocked with hardware, but not much for the comfort and clothes items.
Very slow WiFi.

Very well run Marina. Liked everyone there, owners and staff. Installed a transducer and found some other issues they corrected. Love the atmosphere there.
