Grande Dunes Marina

Will on November 25th, 2023:

We stopped to visit with friends with whom we had a great time. However the dock hands, although very nice, could have used more training. The docks and sidewalks were beginning to show their age. The facilities were not clean and one of the two bathrooms had no toilet paper.

Staff was great. Piers are in great shape. However they could not get the 50amp service working at our slip. Only one shower.

Everything went as planned - which is always a high standard with me! Staff were helpful but not overbearing - local restaurants were good to excellent, with the Drift and Ruth's Chris being our favorites. Hwy. 17 traffic can be heard from the marina however not so much at night within our cabin. We actually walked over to the Opry and Pirate Voyage entertainment attractions, so if you get out and about there are a few thing to see. Will visit again when in the area.

Trash not emptied in a week, gate code change without notice, no pump out, staying for a week all on fuel dock! Not the best experience, member of Oasis, Palm coast is home port, tried to get a discount as stated in my membership, no one has a clue! 2 free nights is impossible to redeem! I love the staff at my marina but am considering moving because of this summer’s experience.

Unfortunately, our pump-out boat service was down due to repairs, we did communicate on the day of your arrival that the pump-out station 50 feet from your slip was available for use. I will review with the staff on daily trash collection if we're falling short of the mark on that. We also apologize for any confusion over the Oasis Marinas Cruisers Club benefits. Our team checked into the situation and found you are a slipholder at a former Oasis Marinas managed property, which means you would not be eligible for additional member benefits. We will follow up directly to clarify this situation. We hope you will try us again in the future and give us the opportunity to give you a remarkable experience.

No one was present to receive us on our arrival before 6pm. No one was present to send us off on our departure at 7am. We required a 50 amp power hookup, and none was present…no open slips existed in the marina, we parked at the fuel dock. We needed fuel desperately, but no one could be found to accommodate our purchase. We drove 17 mile out of our way to stay at the marina and hotel…..only to not get power for the night and not get necessary fuel! What did we receive for what we paid…….nothing

In the womens head, there was only lukewarm water. Plus, the shower curtain rod fell on my wife's head as she drew it. Not up to standards.

Staff is great in communication prior to arrival and accommodating needs for docking arrangements upon arrival. Walking paths easily accessible. Would recommend Uber for visiting to access supplies or take in area .

Nice area but fairly distance from grocery stores or much restaurants (other than the one at the marina and Ruth's). Docks needed cleaning as resident geese were defecating on the docks (and making quite a bit of noise at all hours). It did have a nice open space for our dogs to exercise. Not bad overall but would probably check out another marina in the area in the future.

The marina called us prior to our arrival to reconfirm our arrival, and provided the slip assignment. As a result we were able to have our lines and fenders out and set up. We were met at the slip and very competently handled to get our boat in. All this sounds “normal,” but it doesn’t always happen this way in other places.

Great calm water marina. You have a full slip to yourself and can tie off your boat on both sides. Highly recommend.

Dock hand did not give us the key pad codes for the bathroom or shower before leaving for the night. He was very unapologetic in the morning. For $100 slip for a 33 footer, I would have expected better.

Fabulous marina, great staff and facilities. Although we were only there for one night, Bruce, the general manager bent over backwards to get us docked (and it was very windy) and made sure we had all we needed, even taking 2 bags of ice down to the boat and putting them in the cooler!! Great marina!!

Recommend transient boaters avoid this pricey marina, your money is better spent at a facility that has the guest experience in mind. Absent dock staff on landing in windy conditions when they were well aware of our arrival and the difficult conditions. Same dock staff doing the bare minimum to get by, including walking away without offering to help with electrical, water, or to shove off the following day, also very slow to show up to a fuel call - maybe their girlfriend works in the cafe? Maybe they are just young and need proper training and supervision in guest services? Geese are nesting on the jetty, protecting their young and sounding off late at night and before sunrise. I understand environmental regulations may prohibit scaring off the geese by various methods, but surely the marina could CLEAN THE COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF OLD AND FRESH GOOSE POOP OFF THE DOCKS - the dock staff seem to be busy hanging out in the cafe rather than making for a nice guest experience. The free laundry is appreciated. The shower area for women is not acceptable. This is a shower room (with only one functioning shower) that is key code accessible to everyone at the marina, but doesn’t have a door you can lock from the inside. It feels very unsafe at night. The bathroom and shower room are not well cleaned. There is a dog waste bin that is overflowing, right on the main walkway and no one seems to notice. One star for the laundry being available at no cost. Four stars missing due to neglect of facilities and guest experience.

They put us alongside a long dock where the nearest pedestal was about 100 feet away. We had our cord plus an extra, and they had one cord. The three cords together wouldn’t reach the pedestal. We moved to a different location on the opposite end of the same dock and were able to get the cords to reach. They should have had this figured out before then had us tied up alongside. All this at the end of a long day on the water: not what we were looking for, especially for one of the most expensive overnights we have paid for. Then the office staff couldn’t tell if I had paid for my slip in advance or not, so I had to go back through a week of my credit card charges to confirm that I had already paid. Finally, they needed my insurance policy number and expiration dates. I have never had any marina (other than a long-term stay) ask for this information.

I arrived at 5pm… there was no one there, no help or communications about slip. Found fuel dock..no power or water. Ran generator all night. Needed fuel but no one showed up until After 9am. None of the promised amenities were provided. Could not even get off the dock without the reentry passcode. This place is not run like a real marina!

A 38’ trawler with dinghy in davits charged for a 42’ vessel then put into a slip (in low rent district) whose finger piers BARELY accommodated getting off the vessel—and would not have allowed it if actually 42’. Have stayed at Grande Dunes off and on for over 2 decades. Always a nice experience. Not this time! Probably will look for other options going forward.

Bruce of the dock staff helped us dock, tie up and & get our shore power hooked up. Very skilled and helpful! Facilities are very clean & updated, & Anchor Cafe on the property has a great Happy Hour & good food.
