JE and Wayne will do anything they can to make your stay comfortable. Everything was top notch from the staff to the facilities. A great place to take a break since they have all of the normal necessities plus extras like 2 restaurants, golf carts, golf, pool, library, and even a tennis court. Just follow the day marks to bring you right in.

I could not say more positive things about this charming marina! First of all , the staff!! JE Darnell is an Angel in every sense of the word! Checked on us all the time. Moved us to more protected slips , helped us remove and reinstall new bedding , quickly answered all texts and questions! Food is yummy at both restaurants and a golf cart to tool around on! We could consider moving here!!!

6-7 foot on approach. Hug the reds. JE is very accommodating. Plenty of slips. Two free nights if you're doing the Albermarle loop. Beautiful club house on property. Recommend getting a golf cart.

We stopped here after departing the Dismal Swamp on our way south for pump out and fuel as they were able to accommodate our length and we aren't too deep of a draft (4' 4") to get in.
Most of the residents live in homes on shore. They are super friendly and love learning about sailors, where they are from, and where they are going. A number of residents offered us their car or offered to drive us to the grocery or other necessary errands, which is always appreciated.
Albermarle Plantation is part of the Albermarle Loop, one of about a dozen locations that offer free short-term dockage.

This is a must place to stop! We stayed for 4 nights, enjoyed their restaurants and played some golf. Everyone is so welcoming! We even had someone offer their car to go shopping and they weren't even with the marina!!! Even if you aren't doing to dismal its worth a side trip here. JE the dock master is more then accommodating!

AP is a well managed marina with too many amenities to mention. A great place to relax and unwind. Golf carts are fun to get around. Well worth to spend time here.

If we could give a higher star review, we would! Albemarle Plantation Marina is a do not miss stop! We were given 2 free nights as a promotion for The Albemarle Loop (google it - many other marinas also give 48 hours of free dockage). The staff and members gave a warm welcome. The docks, bathrooms/showers and free laundry are nice and clean. We rented a golf cart and explored the course and beautiful grounds. We also enjoyed a nice meal at the on site restaurant. Curtis Stokes, the Marina and Golf Course sponsored a pig roast that was complementary for transient boaters. It was delicious and a great deal of fun. We plan to return to participate in the 2023 Albemarle Loop!

There are 3 red and 3 green going over the shoal. Very clear entry and saw 6.5 ft at the lowest. There are not really tides, but watch out if a heavy wind blows the water out of the sound. A couple more reds to pass and no issues. We were on the inside of A dock which is the most exposed dock and with just a 5 knot wind, coming south straight in from the sound we bounced a little bit. I would guess that permanent boats get the better docks B-D. Any wind from other angles was very calm. Very friendly people and great facilities. JE the dock master was off so Keith came by and was helpful.

We stayed with AP Marina for 4 nights as we made some stops in the Albemarle Sound. This place is an absolute gem. Channel is well marked and easy to follow. The marina staff could not possibly have been more accommodating or friendly (probably the best we've ever encountered). Easy to get around with a golf cart, beautiful view of the sound at the pool, great dining options, free ice, free laundry, and the residents were friendly and welcoming.
It would be a mistake not to stop here for a few days if you're in the area!

We have stayed at Albermarle Planatation a couple of times and it's always a great experience! James is very friendly & helpful, as was everyone we met there. We enjoy the beautiful setting. Great place for walks or a bike ride. I was very appreciative of the free laundry and got caught up on all our wash! Before departing we topped off our tanks because their fuel prices are very low!

We just spent 3 nights here while doing the Albemarle Loop. What a great marina! JE was at the dock to help us tie up, after another boater waved us towards our slip. The docks are well kept, power and water worked well. The docks are VERY long and it's a long way to the restroom/showers. They provided us with a golf cart to use for the entire 3 nights we were there for only $25 for the whole stay. Even got us a bigger golf cart so we could drive around the neighborhood with our German shepherd. There was a restaurant at the marina where we ate a couple of times. Wonderful neighborhood for walking. All the residents were very friendly and welcoming. Restrooms were a good size and clean. Highly recommend a stop here, even if you're not doing the Albemarle Loop. It's a great destination just by itself.

We stopped in at Albemarle Plantation as part of out Ablemarle Loop. We were met by J.E. the dockmaster and some helpful hands. From the minute we arrived we were met by the most friendly people imaginable. It seemed everyone was interested in us our boat and how did we like the marina. I can not say enough about how well we were treated and how warm and outgoing everyone there is. We felt so much at home we visited the sales office in contemplation of moving there. If you are in the Albemarle do not pass up the opportunity to stop in for a visit.

We've been here several times. This time they have an inviting crackling wood fire in a brick open pizza oven - a nice addition. The amenities are very nice. Because it is a resort laid out with a lot of space, a golf cart was furnished by the marina to make getting around very easy. We were their 70th Albemarle (Sound) Loop boat for the years. There is a washer and dryer at no cost at the marina Dockside restaurant. Golfing is the big activity here. In the off season (fall through spring) the marina offers an attractive reduce monthly rate. From 2015-2018 they, and seven other marinas around the Albemarle offered 48 hours of free dockage to attract boaters to the Albemarle Loop. Follow the bouys into the marina; they were placed differently than indicated on the navigation charts.

We stayed here two nights and would have stayed longer if the weather window would have allowed us to travel later. The facility is in a large golf and boating gated community. All the facilities are either top notch or being overhauled to that standard. There was a professional golf tournament going on whilst we were there which says a lot about golf (not my strong suite). The fuel pump pricing is very competitive. This is certainly a must stop when doing the Albermarie Loop.

Worth the side trip up the Albemarle Sound to find this gem. Stayed here for the Sail to the Sun Rally event and the place is outstanding and the service is even better - they really know how to cater to boaters. Great events, like the oyster roast we attended, and amenities. The 18-hole golf course is in outstanding shape. Be cautious of all the crab pots in the sound, but if you're looking for a fun adventure off the "beaten path", head this direction

Albemarle Plantation is one of those hidden secrets. Part of the Albemarle Loop that towns are promoting along the Albemarle Sound, the Plantation has plenty of docks, fuel, a great golf course and, most importantly, hospitality. The homeowners in the community own the marina and all common areas, so they are especially attentive. Finally, as part of the Albemarle Loop, you get two nights of dockage at no charge (this year they've added a small charge for electric.) The approach to the dock is easy, but pay attention to the marks. And, there are lots of crab pot buoys in the sound. If you draw over 6 feet, give the dock master a call for special guidance. If you plan on eating in the club house, check the hours of operation. Charming and quiet. This is our second visit in the past two years.
