The East 55th Street Marina, is a captain and crew’s dream when it comes to enjoying all that Lake Erie, and Cleveland, Ohio, have to offer. It’s chock full of amenities for all your boating needs and is adjacent to downtown Cleveland. It’s the ideal location for a relaxing and pampered time on your boat, and getting a taste of downtown Cleveland’s rich culture and nightlife.

Surrounded by the beauty of Lake Erie and the iconic Cleveland skyline, your most difficult decision will be what to do first. And when we tell you all there is to choose from, you very well may need to add a few days to your stay.

Just steps from the marina is the popular restaurant, e55 on the Lake. With everything from a fresh local daily catch to signature cocktails, it’s casual dining with a spectacular view. No need to cook when tasty food and friendly faces are calling you.

The marina’s newly updated facilities include a 1,200-foot fishing platform with a fish cleaning station and a fully stocked bait shop. So, bait your hook for a relaxing morning or afternoon of casting and reeling. For supplies and food, the marina store has you covered – and then some! They sell everything from live bait, fishing tackle, bagged ice, and cold beverages, to life jackets, cleaning supplies, dock line, and first aid kits. And just in case you’re looking for a unique gift or a memento of your trip, they have those as well.

What You’ll Find Nearby

Cleveland is your oyster! Since the marina is in downtown Cleveland, everything that the city has to offer is convenient. From world-class restaurants to downhome cooking, you won’t go hungry. If your tummy is rumbling between meals, try something you’ve probably never had before at Ball Ball Waffle dessert shop. Straight from Hong Kong’s street food scene, you’ll savor their unique chewy bubble waffles, or “eggettes”, that can be served sweet or savory. Try both!

Since we boaters can never be away from our beloved water for too long, try the Alley Cat Oyster Bar right on the waterfront. A bit upscale, it features open spaces and expansive views of the Cuyahoga River, and seasonal open-air dining. They say they offer food that “pays homage to the comfort food of a New England Shore restaurant while exhibiting the flair and excitement of Southern California.” Perfect for a night out if you want to shed the boat shoes and shorts for something a little more swish.

Oh, and did we mention that Cleveland is the “Land of Beer?” While here, take some time to search out new brews or reacquaint yourself with your favorites. Add the Avon Brewing company to your list of must-visit breweries. Their mission is to “create an unrivaled handcrafted beer with an emphasis on fresh, local, casual dining traditions and impeccable service.”  And they’ve succeeded!

Of course, the vibrant city of Cleveland is known for its annual events like the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival, and the illuminating Asian Lantern Festival. It’s a city filled with culture and energy. Or, if you’d like an activity you can do any time, and at your own pace, check out Cleveland Walls. It’s part of an international mural program with more than 20 public murals that celebrate art, culture, and community. Get ready to be inspired!

If you just want to take it all in, and don’t want to miss a thing, consider one of Cleveland’s renowned tours. You’ll discover the world’s only Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and if you’re feeling brave, you can even ride the world’s tallest and fastest roller coasters at Cedar Point.

Whenever you decide to visit this captivating destination, there are always more things to do in Cleveland than hours in the day. Not only will you thoroughly enjoy all that the city has to offer, but you can rest assured that you and your boat will be well taken care of at the East 55th Street Marina.
