If you haven’t cruised the Gulf Shores region of Alabama, you might have visions of sticky summers and bass boats. You couldn’t be farther from the truth! The nautical oasis known as Orange Beach is actually the perfect location for boaters who can’t, or don’t want to, decide between a beach vacation and time on their boat. It offers 32 miles of sugar-white sand beaches, a vibrant downtown and every water activity from fishing to water skiing, or just anchoring for a swim and some sun.

The crew at Snag-A-Slip wants you to know that there’s so much more to Orange Beach. When you’re ready to tie up and set foot on dry land, there’s plenty of vacation-perfect shoes-optional eateries and entertaining leisure activities. It’s also home to award-winning restaurants, and amazing year-round events. From championship golf courses and one of the South’s largest outlet malls, to alligator farms and go-cart tracks, you won’t have to search far for fun.

Downtown Orange Beach is located on a picturesque finger of land that reaches into Perdido Bay, just minutes from the tropical turquoise waters of the Gulf. It also neighbors a variety of coves and backwaters, with miles and miles of sheltered shoreline. For just this reason, fishing is taken pretty seriously here, with many marinas lined with rows of gleaming sport-fishing yachts. If you prefer to stay closer to shore, anglers can test their skills with snapper, mackerel, grouper and dolphin.

A great place to start, and get the lay of Orange Beach, is with a ride aboard the Wharf Express. You’ll get an enjoyable ride around Main Street and a chance to explore the many sights and sounds. After that, without going far, you’ll find lots of waterfront watering holes, waterfront resort complexes, marinas and shopping venues and restaurants.

For loyal Parrot Heads (A wink to Jimmy Buffet), you can

head to Lulu’s Bait Shack for an actual Cheeseburger in Paradise. The owner of this iconic and much-loved local eatery is actually Jimmy Buffett’s sister. So, puns allowed! When you feel like soaking in a little culture, you can check out The Warf Amphitheater . Some of the hottest and biggest names come back year after year to this incredible venue.
