Ah, to be at a marina in South-East Florida right now. Sands Harbor Resort & Marina is located in beautiful Pompano Beach, Florida, just north of well-known Fort Lauderdale. This full-service marina has 50 slips that can accommodate vessels up to 120 feet. The water depth at any given time of day is, at the very minimum, 10 feet deep. The docks also accommodate up to 50amp electrical connections. Starting on the East coast, Miramar Yacht Club is located along Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, NY. We love welcoming new marinas in New York as this state is never short of exciting things to do and see. If you’re interested in traveling by land once you’ve reached Brooklyn, there is actually a yellow line train into Manhattan located at Sheepshead Bay! No need to rent a car…however, if you do, the city is a short 30 minutes away from the docks. Brooklyn itself is a really fun place to visit, and guests can enjoy a city excursion while avoiding the crowds of Manhattan. This 12-slip marina is perfectly situated near public transportation and is only minutes from Coney Island beaches. The slips can accommodate vessels up to 42 feet with a beam of 15 feet and a draft of 6 feet. The minimum channel depth is 8 feet. With access to the Atlantic Ocean, boaters have great opportunities for fishing opportunities, sailing, cruising, racing and regattas! The renowned food and bars of Brooklyn are a must visit while in town, and the local charm offers an unforgettable vacation experience.
Please note: At the time of publishing, due to the rapidly changing situation from the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) throughout the United States, the new marinas mentioned in this blog post may already be closed or will close due to limitations in place by local government authorities.
