Although this 4th of July is looking a little different that usual, you can still make the most out of your holiday weekend! We decided to put together a list of fun activities the whole family can
enjoy
on and off the water.

Outdoor Movie Night

Drive-in movie theaters are making a comeback and we are here for it! Grab some blankets and snacks, and check out the latest showing in your area. Need help finding a drive-in theater? You can search for one in your area here. If you’re wanting to stay in place, look into getting a projector and movie screen (a white bed sheet works). Get cozy in the backyard or your boat, and watch your favorite film with your family!

Decorate Your Boat

There is no better way to get in the holiday spirit than with decorations! Why wait till Christmas? Go all out with red, white, and blue decor this year! Not only will you be the talk of the dock, but it

will be loads of fun for the family. Grab some of your other boater friends and you all can have your own patriotic holiday boat parade!

Have a Potluck Swap

Just because we can’t get together with all our friends this year, doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate with them. Organize a potluck swap! Have everyone make their favorite 4th of July dish and drop it off at each other’s houses. If you’re the competitive type, make it a competition and vote on the best dish! You can even throw in a prize.

Outdoor Games

Is it even the 4th of July if you aren’t playing cornhole in the backyard? Whatever your game of choice, take it outside and enjoy the outdoors. We recommend bringing the games aboard and anchoring at your favorite hangout spot or marina for even more fun! Check out our recent blog, Snag-A-Slip Favorites: Water Floats & Toys, for inspiration.

Red, White, & Blue Baking

Holidays are for teaching the kids your old family recipes…or maybe it’s just the Betty Crocker cake mix. Either way, baking is a fun activity the family can do together! Add in some red or blue food coloring and you’ve got yourself some patriotic baked goods.

Boat Picnic

It seems here at Snag-A-Slip that food is on our mind for this 4th of July! And what better way to enjoy your meal than having a boat picnic? Grab the food from your potluck swap and your baked goods, and hit the water!

Watch Disney’s Virtual Firework Show

With many firework shows being canceled this year, we recommend watching a virtual firework show! Right now, you can watch Disney’s Happily Ever After Firework Show! If you’ve ever been to Disney, you know their fireworks are some of the best around. Remember that projector we talked about? Use it to put the show on the big screen for maximum effect.
