In the summer months, Boothbay, Maine is known as the Boating Capital of the New England area. Don’t miss out on adding this great destination to a summer itinerary.

The town of Boothbay resides along the many bays and rivers of coastal Maine. There are plenty of islands to explore around the shores as well as whale, seal and puffin watching for those looking for up-close and personal wildlife encounters. Kayaking and paddleboarding are also a great way to see the inlets. If you find yourself on the East coast of Mill Point, check out the Boothbay Harbor footbridge. This 1,000 ft long bridge extends across the Harbor and gives guests a chance to see the sailboats in the sunset and inlet lighthouses. Boothbay, Maine is also known for its stunning natural beauty. Check out the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and nature walks at Barrett Park. There are historical attractions throughout the town including the Boothbay Railway Village, and the Maine State Aquarium to go and see a variety of Lobster species. We won’t blame you if you try some at the local restaurants later though.

Ocean Point Marina is actually located in East Boothbay, Maine, but is still in close proximity to all the action. The docks are nestled in the protected cove of the Damariscotta River. The marina offers a variety of maintenance options and amenities to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. You can even rent a kayak to explore the coves at the marina Kayak Shop. Grab a bite at the Ship’s Store, Cafe and Lounge, or sit-down full-service restaurant on-site!
