As Snag-A-Slip’s headquarters, you can say we know Annapolis pretty well. We also know that one of the important parts of any visit to any city, is the food. Whether you’re here for the Annapolis Powerboat Show 2019 or visiting another time of year, check out some of our favorite places to grab some grub in the nautical city of Annapolis.
First on our list is none other than Pussers Carribean Grille. There is no doubt that Pussers is the place to go for happy hour when you’re in town for boat shows. This waterfront bar is named after the Pusser’s rum brand and has a variety of food and drinks including their world-famous Painkiller. If you’re looking for a nautical-inspired, casual environment, Pussers Carribean Grille is your place.
If you’re looking for a place for fine dining, head over to Eastport and check out Carrol’s Creek Cafe. Their selection of exquisite meals include fresh local seafood, steaks, chops and more. This restaurant has something for everyone, but best of all are their gorgeous waterfront views of Spa Creek.
Inspired by the love for Chesapeake Bay sailors and fishermen, Boatyard Bar & Grill is one of the best places for hangouts and great seafood. They have one of the most extensive raw bars in the Annapolis area and make a killer brunch. Boatyard Bar & Grill has been named as one of the world’s top sailing/boating restaurants and bars by multiple publications and has even had some celebrity visitors such as Jimmy Buffett and Kevin Bacon.
It’s hard to write a food blog about Annapolis without including the famous Chick & Ruths Delly. This place is known for their delicious sandwiches, homemade pies and breads, and their six pound milkshake. Yes, you read that right – six whole pounds! Chick & Ruths Delly has a section on the menu called “The Colossal Challenges” where you can attempt to eat massive meals to win prizes. You may remember seeing the Travel Channel’s “Man v. Food” episode where Adam Richman attempted their “Colossal Shake & Colossal Sandwich” meal.
Located on West Street in Annapolis is Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge. From a mouthwatering breakfast menu, amazing entrees and a gorgeous rooftop bar, you really can’t go wrong. Whether you’re grabbing a drink and enjoying the atmosphere, or dining for any meal, Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge will not disappoint.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and Iron Rooster serves it up all day. This southern-inspired restaurant is where you’ll find all your guilty-pleasure foods. If breakfast isn’t really your thing, no worries. They have an amazing lunch and dinner menu as well. Just be sure to try one of their house-made roostarts (it’s like a poptart, but better).
Annapolis is full of delicious food and culture for sea dwellers and land lubbers alike that we hope all our boaters get to experience at least once, and the Annapolis Powerboat Show 2019 is your chance!
Remember, if you’re out on the water sober boating is fun boating. Always designate a sober skipper!
