Warm, salty breezes coming off the ocean while your toes melt into the soft pink and white sands – this is the Bahamian paradise. The Caribbean archipelago is made up of around 700 islands and islets, and more than 2,000 cays (coral reefs). While only 30 of the beautiful Bahamas Islands are inhabited, each of these stunning destinations deliver their own unique island vibe. The most commonly known and visited island of the Bahamas is its capital, Nassau. There is no denying that there is much to see and do in Nassau, but I must encourage you not stay in one place! Boat the Bahamas from island to island to really get the full Bahamian experience.
The Abacos Islands
The Abacos are a group of islands responsible for making up a 120-mile–long chain that stretches over 650 square miles. Great Abaco Island and Little Abaco serve as the “mainland,” but that is not to discourage boaters and visitors from exploring its smaller islands. The chain is laden with best-kept secret cays and preserved colonial architecture. The Abacos is even home to one of the Worlds Top 10 Beaches. You must make a cruise to Hope Town Lighthouse – one of only two remaining lighthouse beacons saved from automation. The beautiful lighthouse marks the reef of Elbow Cay.

Eleuthera
With 11,000 residents, Eleuthera is the fourth most populated island of The Bahamas. The island is known for its rolling pineapple farms, fantastic fishing spots and casual way of life. The terrain of Eleuthera is made up of rocky bluffs, low-lying wetlands and massive coral reefs, making this an adventurers dream. May I suggest a snorkel session throughout the coral reefs? The colorful underwater ecosystems are something you need to check out up close! Pineapple Dock is a shipwreck spot that is now home to a plethora of tropical fish – worth a dive!
