Four Common Questions about the New Snag-A-Slip Website and Mobile App

Snag-A-Slip mobile apps

Earlier this year, we launched the new Snag-A-Slip website and mobile app, and have heard great feedback from boaters and marinas alike! Our website is speedier and has more capabilities, features and rewards, especially for account holders. Our new mobile app, available on iOS and Android, makes it even easier for boaters to book slips quickly and easily.

We’ve received a lot of questions about the updated Snag-A-Slip website and mobile app, so I thought I’d write a blog post answering the top questions we received. If you have more questions or feature suggestions about our website and mobile app, please don’t hesitate to Contact Us or reach out on our live chat.

Why am I having trouble setting or updating my password?

When we relaunched, we updated our password requirements. Passwords must have at least 8 characters and contain 1 of each of the following: a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a number, and a special character (such as !, @, #, and $). We wanted to make sure our new product was in line with now common password requirements on other websites and mobile apps. We’re continuing to update our error messages throughout the site and app to make sure these requirements are as clear as possible.

I heard you have an app in the Apple App Store, but why can’t I find it on my iPad?

Our iOS app is compatible on both iPhones and iPads. When looking for our app on your iPad, make sure to look in the “iPhone and iPad” section of the App Store. We find that some users accidentally look in the “iPad Only” section and can’t find it there. You can find our iOS app in iTunes and the Android app in the Google Play Store.

I thought I signed up for an account on your old website, but the new site doesn’t seem to recognize that login – why?

On our old website, we recognized that some users would sign up for an account but later would not confirm their sign-up via an email we would send. We chose to only migrate confirmed accounts to the new website, and added a Captcha during the sign up process to help confirm users right away.

If your account was not migrated, you can sign up here for your free Snag-A-Slip profile, with the same email address and username as you had before. If we did migrate your account, but you can’t remember your password, just reset your password using this Forgot My Password form.

How can I leave a review for my marina stay?

To help you compare marinas, we are now displaying reviews from our partner, Waterway Guide. Currently, after your stay is complete, you will receive a survey from Snag-A-Slip asking about your stay that we encourage you to fill out. Soon we will be rolling out a feature for Snag-A-Slip account holders to leave a review through the Trips section of their user accounts. You are also welcome to leave a review with our partner Waterway Guide through for a marina you may have stayed with, and once that review is verified, it will display on our site.

As Snag-A-Slip’s Product Development Manager, I am constantly working with our fantastic team to bring you new features to the Snag-A-Slip website and mobile app. Is there something you wish we could add or improve? Please reach out and let us know!

The iPhone app does not work well. The backgrounds and buttons are all “off”. I finally deleted it because I couldn’t get it to work right.

Hi Brett! Thank you for your comment – I really appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback.

I’d encourage you to try the latest version of our app [1.0.8] which, after approval by Apple, should be available in the App Store this week. We are always working to improve functionality, and addressed several bugs and design issues in this release. If you’re still seeing issues, I’d appreciate if you reach out to us via our Contact Page or at hello@snagaslip.com to provide more detail; this way I can have our development team look more specifically into your concerns.

Thanks for trying Snag-A-Slip, we hope you give us another shot!
