The city of New London, CT is celebrating the 4th of July a little late at their annual Sailfest. To witness their spectacular fireworks, New London Waterfront Park and State Pier is putting a firework extravaganza! You won’t miss their firework display happening at approximately 9pm on July 13th. The show will be set to music that guests can listen to on K-Hits 100.9 FM. Sailfest will be taking place from July 12th-14th with fun for the whole family! Come stay at the fantastic Thamesport Marina. With two restaurants on site, you can celebrate the holiday with delicious food before you’re dazzled by fireworks. Grasonville, Maryland

Queen Anne’s County is putting on an Independence Day Celebration of their own on July 2nd. The family-friendly event will be hosted at the Chesapeake Heritage Visitors Center. The event will include free entertainment, food trucks, and a fireworks display to wrap up the evening. Please note that the rain date will be July 3 with no vendors. To be near to all the festivities have an early 4th of July by boat, dock at either Mears Point Marina or Piney Narrows Yacht Haven. Located in the Kent Narrows on Kent Island, Grasonville is one of the premier destinations on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Boaters will love these fabulous marinas, which offer peace, tranquility, and much needed relaxation for the ultimate Independence Day getaway.

Crisfield, Maryland

Somers Cove Marina is hosting their 10th annual Freedom Fest on July 6th. This FREE event is the perfect way to celebrate our freedom. With live music, tasty food, arts & crafts for the kids, hero appreciation, and of course, fireworks, spend the weekend here to get the most out of your 4th of July celebration. You’ll have plenty to do at Somers Cove Marina all weekend with their pool, grills, lawn games and a great playground for the kiddos!

Chestertown, Maryland

Mears Great Oak Landing Marina is the ultimate family-friendly, pet-friendly beach party for boaters looking to have some fun in the Upper Chesapeake. Boaters who want to still celebrate their independence day by boat with some relaxation and fun should sail right on over to Coles Point Marina. The marina will be hosting a special Pig Roast Weekend for the holiday, from July 4th to the 7th. Guests can enjoy the sun this Independence Day weekend from the expansive outdoor seating areas, including beachfront, deck, waterside and Tiki bar. Their pig will be cooked on site and available in a variety of delicious dining selections. As always, live entertainment will be provided all weekend long! Guests can still see fireworks from the Virginia northern neck and the Maryland side of the harbor.

Stafford, Virginia

Finally, Hope Springs Marina is the perfect option if you want to be away from any fireworks and have a relaxing 4th of July by boat. Hope Springs Marina is a full-service marina located on a protected section of beautiful Aquia Creek.
