IT’S FALL Y’ALL!

This is the best season to take a relaxing cruise down the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) to set up winter camp in Florida! If you’re planning a journey south, we have some great marina recommendations for you to stop at to make the best use of the 3,000 mile waterway this fall.

VIRGINIA MARINAS

Tidewater Yacht Marina is considered a must stop for boaters beginning or ending their journey on the ICW! This perfect pit-stop is a frequented destination by people looking to relax and fuel up before continuing on their journey. With a recently opened full-service boat yard, guests can rest assured boat tune ups, parts, and haul outs will be taken care of. The marina is within walking distance to beautiful Portsmouth, Virginia and many of its attractions such as the Naval Shipyard Museum, the Lightship Museum, and the Children’s Museum of Virginia. Don’t forget to visit 757 Crave, Tidewater’s on-site restaurant and bar!

Bell Isle Beach Club & Marina

With a location right off the Chesapeake Bay, you can’t go wrong! Belle Isle Beach Club & Marina is in Hampton, Virginia, with 75 slips and availability up to 50 feet. Bell Isle caters to your every need, with pump-out, a DIY repair service yard, showers, a private beach and picnic area, as well as kayak and paddle board rentals! Nearby is downtown Hampton, making this marina an ideal location for those looking to explore too.

Belhaven Marina

Welcome to mile marker 136 of the ICW! Located in downtown Belhaven, North Carolina, Belhaven Marina is the perfect place to stop and enjoy a break from cruising. Belhaven offers a variety of amenities ranging from boat repair, detailing, and storage to grilling, corn-hole, and croquet. Guests have access to private restrooms and showers, as well as WiFi, laundry, and a fully stocked Ships Store. Somehow find something you need that’s not on site? Fear not! The marina is within walking distance of all that Belhaven has to offer including restaurants, shops, and attractions.

Bath Harbor Marina

Home to the infamous Blackbeard the Pirate, Bath, North Carolina is the oldest incorporated town in the state. Bath Harbor Marina is 1.5 miles long and ½ a mile wide with a 6th foot depth making this an ideal location for those looking for the extra room. Bath Harbor Marina offers a wide variety of amenities including an on-site motel, laundry, private showers, and restrooms. Enjoy dinner out and watch the sunset in the picnic area, or head on over to the Marina Restaurant. Bath Harbor also provides transportation if you want to get out and explore the town and it’s popular historic attractions from wars, battles, and architecture of North Carolina’s first port!

Dowry Creek Marina

Dowry Creek Marina is just off the Pungo River and the main channel of the ICW. The family owned and operated marina offers 50 transient slips in the sheltered upper Dowry Creek. The marina offers high-speed internet, private air-conditioned bathrooms, laundry, grills, and an area for your furry friend! If you find you need something off-site or you just want to explore, the marina offers vehicles for guests to take out to the restaurants and shops of Belhaven, North Carolina.

SOUTH CAROLINA MARINAS

Rivers Edge Marina

Come explore and enjoy beautiful historic North Charleston, South Carolina. Whether you want to relax by the Ashley River or cruise by the Magnolia and Middleton Plantations, you will find the most scenic views. There are barrier islands near the marina that have beautiful beaches, bird sanctuaries, and historic lighthouses for boaters to explore! If you head into town, you can tour antebellum mansions and the boarding plantations. Onsite, guests will have access to amazing amenities such as WiFi, private showers, restrooms, and a gorgeous picnic area.

Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina is located just off the ICW on the banks of Broad Creek in beautiful Hilton Head, South Carolina. This 15.5-acre marina with 178 boat slips accommodating vessels up to 145 feet! Enjoy the calm, serene atmosphere of the Island in complete comfort. The marina resembles a resort, where guests will have access to restrooms and showers, laundry, a fitness center, a tennis court, and a swimming pool! There is an on-site playground too, so while you’re over at the tiki bar, the kids can play. Hilton Head is almost entirely walkable, and shops and restaurants are a short walk away.

Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa

The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa is in the heart of downtown Savannah, Georgia right off the Savannah River. If you dock at the marina, you will have access to all hotel amenities including the pool, tennis courts, golf course, and showers. You can also decide to stay in one of the hotel’s many pristine rooms! Water taxis, ferries, or Ubers can take you all around town to you can check out restaurants, bars, shops, and all the attractions Savannah has to offer. If you don’t feel like leaving the marina and hotel, don’t worry! There are several restaurants and bars on-site for you to choose from.

Savannah Bend Marina

Savannah Bend Marina is located right off the ICW in Thunderbolt, Georgia. This location is the perfect area to take a break from cruising down south for boaters to relax and enjoy Savannah. On-site amenities include showers and bathrooms, WiFi, laundry, provisions, and fuel stations. A $20 cab can take guests into downtown Savannah to enjoy the historic attractions, restaurants, bars, shops, and more!
